Our Fees

The Law Firm of Nugent & Bryant represents injured clients and the families of those who have lost a loved one based on a contingent fee agreement. A contingent fee agreement makes the attorneys fees dependent upon a successful outcome of the case. If there is no recovery, then the client does not owe anything - no attorney's fee, nothing. Simply put, you owe nothing if we do not recover money for you.

Most people who have been injured or who have lost a loved one choose contingent fee agreements because they cannot afford to pay for our legal services on an hourly basis. By allowing our clients a contingent fee arrangement, The Law Firm of Nugent & Bryant is not paid unless we recover money for you. We are not paid until the case is over.

There is no charge for the initial appointment to discuss the facts of your case, for the initial investigation, or for the initial review of medical records. We will come to your home, your office, a hospital room or you can always meet with us in the privacy of our office. If we decide to take your case, we will enter into a specific written agreement with you regarding attorney fees and costs. This specific written fee agreement will be clear and simple to read, and both The Law Firm of Nugent & Bryant and the client will sign it. The written fee agreement clearly states the scope of our representation and the manner in which attorney fees will be computed. Any costs we have advanced are reimbursed to us, assuming we have made a settlement or recovery for you, at the end of the case.

For many of our injured clients and especially those who have lost a loved one, hiring an attorney is an important, but confusing, process. Please call or schedule a free initial appointment and we will answer any questions you may have about our fees.

Referrals from other attorneys are always welcomed. If you are an attorney and wish to gain the advantage to having The Law Firm of Nugent & Bryant involved, please call. We can assist by co-counseling the case with you, or if you desire, you can simply refer the case to us and we will handle the entire case from that point forward. We pay reasonable referral fees to referring attorneys in accordance with the Ethical Rules in effect in the State of Connecticut. At the conclusion of our representation, we make certain the client contacts the referring attorney for all future legal services.

There is absolutely no additional attorney fee cost to the client when The Law Firm of Nugent & Bryant is involved.
